Harvard class of 1967 alumnus John Lithgow expands his repertoire of children's books with this tale of young Mahalia mouse whose family lives in a dormitory on the Harvard campus. A huge rainstorm threatens to wash out Mahalia's family, so she strikes out to find food and shelter for them. Its a tale of how innovation and perseverance leads to success as Mahalia is discovered by a teacher and some students who are amazed by her accomplishments. The book includes a CD of John Lithgow reading parts of this story during his address at recent commencement ceremonies at Harvard.
